Here at Mannar Welfare Association UK, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding in 2004, we as an Association, have been determined and have continued to make an impact in the society, our home town of Mannar, supporting towards its development.

MWAUK is achieveing more every year in reaching out to identifying and fulfilling causes which are fundamental towards the upliftment of Mannar. We partner and work alongside the local Committee who in turn support us with their expertise to identify and implement the best possible solution for the requiements – this is what sets us apart as a charity organization. 

Uniting for a Cause

Every year we unite as a community to pledge and raise funds which support the causes we identify. Exploring new ways of sustaining our organization's coreobjectives, the MWAUK has crossed a milestone of 15 successfull years in the UK. We stand attest of time and challenges steadfast in our values and principles in working together for the development of Mannar. 

COVID19 Relief Support - Phase Five

The Phase Five of the "COVID19 Relief Support" by the Mannar Welfare Association UK, was implemented on 11th May 2019 by distribution of dry ration packs each to the value of Rs.2000.00 to 75 families located in Manthai West (Vellankkukam, Kayanagar, Kalliyadi, Elluppakkadavai). The initiave was made possible with the contributions made by Path To the Future organization. 

COVID19 Relief Support - Phase Four

The Phase four of the "COVID19 Relief Support" by the Mannar Welfare Association UK, was implemented on 06th May 2019 by distribution of dry ration packs each to the value of Rs.2000.00 to 75 families of rehabilated former LTTE cadrers located in Nanaddan. The initiave was made possible with the contributions made by Path To the Future organization. 

COVID19 Relief Support - Phase Three

The Mannar Welfare Association UK, successfully the third phase of "COVID19 Relief Support" on 24th April. 500 families benefited from this project and the dry ration food packs were distributed to 500 well deserving families under the guidance and support of the GA Office. Each pack handed over for the value of Rs.1500.00 per pack consisted of dry ration such as Rice, Dhal, Flour, Sugar, Tea leaves, Potatoes, Onions and other essential items. 

 

 Additional Secretary Mr. Gunapalan along with Divisional Secretary Mr. M. Pratheep also handed over the dry ration packs to 200 families located in the Southbar and Savatkkadu in Mannar along with the MWAUK Working Committee members Mr. Pathinathan Croos and Mrs. R.T. Ramalingam and many other government officials.

 

 

COVID19 Relief Support - Phase One & Two 

MWAUK initiated a poject to distribute dry ration packages to much needy families living in Mannar who are affected by the lockdown due to Coronovirus in the country. 200 dry ration packs were distributed to families located various part of Mannar. 87 family packs were distributed to families of differently abled children in partnership with MARDAP. The project was implemented by the MWAUK Working Committee in Mannar along with the support of government officials. Two phases on this project has been successfully completed whilst the phase three has been launched.

News7Mannar an online platform which disseminates all day to day news on Mannar district, recently participated at the handover of 500 dry ration packages organized by the Mannar Welfare Association UK to well deserving families affected by the lockdown of Corono, in Mannar, Musali and Nanattan. The initiative was graced by the presence of Additional GA Mr. Gunapalan and DS Mr. M. Pratheep.
